WHAT THE SYMBOLS ON THE CARE LABEL MEAN

Wash

The wash tub is the basic symbol for the care instructions when washing. The number in the wash tub indicates the maximum temperature for the washing process. Be careful if there is one bar or two bars under the tub - this means a gentle wash cycle, two bars indicate a wool wash cycle.

DRY

A circle in a square with one or two dots allows drying in the tumble dryer. One dot indicates drying at a reduced temperature, two indicate a normal temperature. Important: The crossed-out symbol means that the item cannot be machine dried.

IRON

The "iron" symbol with up to three dots generally allows ironing, with the dots indicating the temperature range for control irons. Temperatures are assigned to the respective number of dots. An iron that is crossed out, however, prohibits ironing.

BLEACHING

If an empty triangle is shown, the item of clothing can be treated with chlorine or oxygen bleach. If the triangle has two diagonal lines, the item may only be treated with oxygen bleach. If the triangle is filled in and crossed out, the textile must not be bleached under any circumstances!

DRY CLEANING

The family of symbols with the cleaning drum provides crucial information for professional textile care through dry cleaning.
