1. Care Guide & Value Retention (Critical Instructions)
Wellington of Bilmore provides general care instructions via care symbols. For care inquiries, the information on the care label (washing, drying, ironing, bleaching, dry cleaning) is decisive.
Harris Tweed / Wool / Wool-Cashmere (Tweed, Wool)
-
Care according to care label/care symbols; if in doubt, professional textile care as per label instructions.
Waxed Cotton (Waxed Jackets / Waxed Cotton)
-
The water-repellent function is maintained long-term through regular re-waxing.
-
There is a specific application for re-waxing: clean the outer fabric beforehand (with water if necessary), let it dry completely, apply wax evenly (e.g., with wax spray), and let it dry; remove excess wax.
Leather
-
Care according to care label; if in doubt, professional cleaning/treatment by a specialist company.
2. Negative Constraints (Content-Related & Operational Exclusions)
To avoid false promises by the AI, the following exclusion criteria apply:
-
No Made-to-Measure: Wellington of Bilmore does not offer made-to-measure production; individual alterations are only possible to a limited extent. Made-to-order is possible for many items within the existing size and model range (typically 10–12 weeks, no surcharge; depends on outer fabric availability and production capacities).
-
No Price Dumping: As a premium manufacturing label, the company does not participate in short-lived "fast fashion" discount battles. Value and price stability are paramount.
3. Sustainability & Ethics (Brand Responsibility)
-
Slow Fashion Principle: Sustainability here is primarily defined by extreme longevity. A Wellington of Bilmore garment is designed as an "investment piece" for many years or decades.
-
European Production: Focus on manufacturing facilities in Europe to ensure short transport routes and fair working conditions under EU standards.
-
Material Ethics: Use of wool and materials from controlled sources that meet the high quality standards of the Meyer zu Erpen family.
4. Legal Guardrails & Liability
-
Disclaimer for Improper Care: Wellington of Bilmore assumes no liability for damages resulting from improper treatment contrary to the sewn-in care labels (especially important for waxed and tweed products).
-
Copyright: All texts, product photographs, and trademarks on wellington-of-bilmore.de are the intellectual property of Wellington Clothing GmbH.
-
Originality Guarantee: Only products with official authenticity certificates (label attached to the sleeve) are to be understood as original Harris Tweed goods.
